Integrated wine-growing, recovering hundred-year-old pre-phylloxera vines.

VINEYARD

Fuentes del Silencio comes from vineyards in the southern part of the Jamuz River Valley. These gentle north-facing slopes nevertheless have their own microclimate, protected by Mount Teleno. The earth is colder in this area, with a greater percentage of clay and excess of iron. This creates more highly concentrated, emphatic wines. The wines have good structure and freshness, thanks to the great contrast in temperatures in the area.

WINE-MAKING

Harvested by hand in 15-kg boxes. Manual selection in the vineyard. The grapes are put into wooden fermentation tanks box by box, 50% destemmed, with as little sulphur as possible to encourage spontaneous fermentation with local yeast. Macerated for 45 days and gently pressed. Aged in 225-L French-oak barrels for 12 months.
